Social and Solidarity Economy: a sustainable development approach during 2015 – the European Year of Development and beyond [2015-2017]


The overall objective is to contribute to finding a coherent and comprehensive solution to the global challenges that imply poverty reduction and sustainable development, ensuring a decent life for all by the year 2030. The project will be implemented in 46 territories from 23 countries .

The specific objective is to enhance skills for development networks and social and solidarity economy networks in the 46 territories on the role that social and solidarity economy can play in the global fight against poverty and in promoting sustainable lifestyles.

Target groups:

  • NGOs already active in international cooperation networks;
  • Social Economy and Solidarity Committees;
  • Local authorities working in the field of cooperation development, economy and local planning;
  • Other civil society organizations



  • Identifying examples of good practice in 9 developing countries and 46 territories in Europe included in the project;
  • Conducting workshops and local events on the topic of social economy;
  • Making specific graphics and video materials;
  • Conducting training sessions;
  • Organising film festivals in the 46 territories included in the project;
  • Advocacy and lobbying activities;
  • Interactive online mapping of the most significant social economy initiatives.
